Online Church

Join via Zoom: https://zoom.us/j/750505971

While our physical health requires suspending in person services, our spiritual health--as individuals and as a community—is important too.

So, for the immediate future consider Resurrection Church to be an online/interactive worship and preaching community: while we will be able to worship as a faith community in person in the (hopefiully not too distant) future, for the next few weeks we are a “coronation” church.

What you need:

-Email—to receive a zoom invite (will also post invite on the fb page) for those who are part of the church family and want to worship together as a community

-We will also stream the sermon live on facebook for those who want to remain anonymous -- it will also show up on people’s feed’s who  have liked Res church.

-A laptop or other networked device that has a screen, speakers, a microphone, and preferably a video camera, or a phone to dial in to the zoom meeting. (You might consider downloading zoom in advance, but even that should not be necessary)

-An improvised home worship space that you can gather with your family between 11 and 12—we will try to keep to 40 minutes.

-Bread, wine, juice, water, or any substitute elements for  partaking in communion together.

The sermon text will be:

Luke 6:20-31

0Then he looked up at his disciples and said: “Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21“Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. 22“Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man. 23Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven; for that is what their ancestors did to the prophets. 24“But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. 25“Woe to you who are full now, for you will be hungry. “Woe to you who are laughing now, for you will mourn and weep. 26“Woe to you when all speak well of you, for that is what their ancestors did to the false prophets.

27“But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. 29If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. 30Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. 31Do to others as you would have them do to you.

You will receive a brief order of service and zoom invite before the service by email, and we will also try to make the documents available by screen. Let’s hope our experiment in embodying the church universal goes smoothly.
