Why We Serve
We believe that God desires and is working to bring about resurrection—life and renewal—to a dying and broken world.
We believe that Christ is the resurrection and the life. We rejoice that Christ died for our sins; because he rose, we have the hope of freedom and a full life, both now and through eternity.
We believe that we are called to demonstrate that hope by acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God.
We believe that all of Scripture should challenge our minds and feed our souls. We believe in asking tough questions and wrestling with big ideas to develop a faith that is rigorous and honest.
We believe that faith, hope, and love will last forever and that Christians and the church must embody these traits.
We believe in unity in essentials, liberty in non-essentials, and grace in all things.
We believe that the church, through the power of Christ, should be a community that supports, inspires, and transforms its members. Beginning in Hillsborough, we strive to demonstrate the hope of resurrection both locally and globally by loving our neighbors and caring for those who are most vulnerable.
How We Serve
It is clear that God calls us to help those who are suffering, but in a world as large as ours, the sheer number of people in need can prevent Christians from getting started. At Resurrection Church, we focus on three efforts:
serving local families in need
We partner with Orange Congregations in Mission (OCIM) to support their food pantry and events throughout the year.
Providing livelihoods
We sponsor children through Compassion International, giving our church members an opportunity to connect with children around the world through letters and support.
Feeding those who starve
We donate and package meals for Rise Against Hunger, which are shipped around the world. Sometimes these meals are sent in response to tragic events, and sometimes they are sent to address chronic hunger.
